This year has been a blur and unfortunately I have used my phone camera more than my regular camera lately. I guess I have a good reason for that, since my last post I got engaged AND married! So much has happened! BUT in the midst of it all I also bought a new lens, and I LOVE it! 

What does a photographer do on a snow day? Take a photo field trip of course! It was a short one because I still had to go to my real job, but J and I took a quick ride out to Norlo Park and found some magical scenes. I pretty much love them all. This is what makes winter appear like a fairytale or bedtime story - like the Polar Express. 

Almost a month ago we took a weekend trip to Virginia to the Grand Illumination in Colonial Williamsburg. All the door and window decorations were fresh and lovely. I could not pass up the opportunity for creating photographic art. 

The past few weekends have provided me the opportunity to enjoy my favorite season of all...FALL! The leaves changing colors to vibrant yellows, oranges and reds as well as the crisper air that brings relief from the summer humidity are some of the best aspects of autumn...

We visited the Maroon Bells in Aspen, Cataract Lake in Summit County, Rocky Mountain National Park and Clear Creek County to go white water rafting among other great things! If you haven't been to Colorado, at least to see the mountains, I highly recommend it. 

I was rounding the bend on my drive home from work today when off to my right the glowing fields caught my eye. The sunlight was filtering through the clouds like the sun through mini blinds.

Easter weekend started out rainy and dreary but ended most beautifully. We took a day trip to Harper's Ferry, WV and walked around the quaint historical town. It was a perfect day and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We are hoping to return in the fall when there are colorful leaves on the trees. 

My aunt came to visit the other day and commented to my mom about the pictures of China that are hanging in our house. She asked if I have them posted online somewhere. They have not really been shared before so, Aunt Cathy, these are for you. 

It snowed over the weekend and I did not go out and take many pictures as I thought I should have taken. Then it snowed again on Monday and school was cancelled. I thought I would take my camera to work and then leave for a mid afternoon adventure in the snow. Shoveling took precedence and I the only pictures I took were on the NETwork campus. I do love our property in the snow, it is really beautiful. However I did regret not going on a proper walk to find more scenes and subjects to photograph. 

When it snowed again over night and school was cancelled for a second day in a row I decided that I couldn't let the opportunity for snow pictures to pass by 3 times. 

During Shop Small Saturday, in November, my dad took me to Lucky*Girl Vintage in Greencastle, PA. I loved the shop so much and was so creatively inspired that I asked the owner, Debbie Gala, if I could return sometime with my camera to photograph her shop and vintage items.
